Our Specialized Centers, made up of Schools and Transdisciplinary Spaces, are units of cooperation where knowledge is transformed into action to solve complex challenges. Its work articulates specialized teaching with applied research and social linkage, generating solutions that transcend the boundaries of a single discipline.

Latin American School of Protected Areas (ELAP)

Founded in 1997, it is a regional reference in the professionalization of the management of conserved territories. It promotes participatory and adaptive management models, strengthening technical capacities aligned with the Global Biodiversity Framework and IUCN standards.

UNESCO Chair in Biosphere Reserves Management and Regenerative Practices Regenerative Practices

Strengthens the management of biosphere reserves through applied research, international cooperation, and technical training. Articulates knowledge with communities to promote the regeneration of the territories.

Living Soils

Costa Rican node of the Savory Institute. Promotes the recovery of soil fertility, ecosystem health and the resilience of agri-food systems through agroecological practices, holistic management and regenerative livestock farming.

Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Promotes impact entrepreneurship as an incubator recognized by the MICITT and member of the National Network (MEIC). Accompanies human and technical development to strengthen companies that integrate technology, sustainability and regenerative approaches with local economic opportunities.
